Elizabeth G. Bateman
Elizabeth's practice focuses primarily on guardianship and incapacity planning, vulnerable adult protection, estate planning, and estate and trust administration.
Elizabeth has a passion for working with low income seniors. She credits much of her interest in elder law not only to working with her father over the last several years, but also to her involvement with the Elder Law Practice Group at the University of St. Thomas’s Legal Services Clinic, where she advocated for low income seniors facing exploitation, eviction, and termination of services.
During law school in Minneapolis, and for a period thereafter, she worked for Minnesota attorney Kirk C. Thompson in the areas of Social Security, PERA, and long term disability law. She has been recognized for her exceptional legal research and writing, having earned consecutive Dean’s Awards in the subject and having served as Senior Editor to her school’s flagship law review. She has also written several successful appellate briefs both at the administrative level and to the federal courts.
